SynoGuard AI's AI Ethics & Responsible Use module discovers, classifies, scores, and reports on AI tool usage across every client environment the MSP manages. A dedicated lightweight endpoint agent (<50 MB, <1% CPU, Windows 10/11) performs metadata-only scanning — process names, DNS queries, network destinations, and browser extensions — to detect 250+ AI services including ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and Perplexity. Zero content inspection. Zero keylogging. Zero clipboard access.
Detected AI usage is classified by EU AI Act risk tier, mapped to NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, and IEEE 7000 controls, scored with an Ethics Posture Score (0–100), and surfaced in 6 ethics reports — including an auto-generated AI Acceptable Use Policy. MSPs can demonstrate responsible AI governance to auditors, insurers, and regulated clients without any manual evidence collection.

Endpoint Agent
What the agent collects: Process names, DNS query destinations, network connection endpoints, and browser extension IDs. It does not read file contents, clipboard data, keystrokes, screen captures, or email/chat messages. All data is transmitted encrypted to the SynoGuard AI platform and used exclusively for AI service detection and ethics classification.
AI Service Detection
Every detected AI service is classified by EU AI Act risk tier and mapped to the client's AI governance policy. The detection library is continuously updated as new AI services emerge.

Ethics Registry & Scoring
A per-client inventory of every AI tool detected in the environment. Each entry records the AI service name, vendor, purpose, EU AI Act risk tier, data categories potentially accessed, approval status (sanctioned / tolerated / prohibited), last review date, and the governance policy that applies to it.
A composite score that quantifies the client's AI ethics and responsible use posture across six dimensions. Updated continuously as new AI usage is detected or governance actions are taken.
Ethics Reports
All six reports are generated automatically from the AI Ethics Registry and endpoint agent data. No manual evidence collection required.
Overall Ethics Posture Score (0–100) per client, trend over time, breakdown by category (transparency, fairness, privacy, accountability, safety, robustness), and top remediation priorities.
All detected AI service usage per client, classified by sanctioned / tolerated / prohibited status, EU AI Act risk tier, data exposure risk level, and recommended governance action.

NIST AI Risk Management Framework
Maps AI governance controls to the four NIST AI RMF functions: Govern, Map, Measure, and Manage. Produces an AI RMF alignment score per client.
European Union Artificial Intelligence Act
Classifies all detected AI systems by EU AI Act risk tier (Unacceptable, High, Limited, Minimal). Identifies prohibited AI uses and high-risk systems requiring conformity assessment.
ISO/IEC 42001 — AI Management System
Aligns the client's AI governance posture to the ISO 42001 AI management system standard. Supports certification readiness for organizations pursuing ISO 42001.
IEEE 7000 — Ethically Aligned Design
Maps AI ethics controls to IEEE 7000 value-based engineering principles. Supports organizations that have adopted IEEE Ethically Aligned Design as a governance standard.
Platform Governance
Every AI inference, every generated document, and every automated remediation is written to a tamper-evident log with the model version, the input fingerprint, the output, and the human or system actor that triggered it.
MSPs configure which categories of action require technician approval before execution. Approval gates are enforced at the platform level and cannot be bypassed by the AI layer.
The platform maintains a live inventory of every AI model in use, its version, its training data lineage at the category level, and the date of its last evaluation.
The AI layer operates on the minimum data necessary for each task. Client telemetry is not used to train shared models without explicit MSP consent.
AI inferences are scoped to a single tenant. Data from one MSP's clients is never visible to another MSP's models or outputs.
Every risk score and every generated document includes a 'why' view showing the evidence and the reasoning path. Every ethics finding is traceable to the original endpoint telemetry record.
